Congressman Hern named to lead Republicans on House subcommittee

Tulsa Representative Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after he was appointed to new leadership positions on his committees.

On the Small Business Committee, Rep. Hern will serve as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access.

On the Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Hern will serve as the Deputy Republican Leader of the Subcommittee on Energy.

“I am honored that Congressman Chabot has selected me to lead my Republican colleagues on the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access,” said Rep. Hern. “After a long career in the business world, I am very familiar with the issues facing our small businesses, especially young entrepreneurs and startup ventures. I look forward to using my industry experience to make policy decisions that help, instead of hinder, the growth of American businesses.”

Regarding his leadership role on the Subcommittee on Energy, Rep. Hern said, “The energy industry has historic ties to the city of Tulsa and remains a key industry to this day, employing many Oklahomans – especially in the First District. I can’t wait to lend my voice to the policies that impact Oklahoma’s energy sector and serve as the Deputy Republican Leader on the Subcommittee on Energy.”

“Congressman Hern’s 33 years of business experience have prepared him to serve as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access.  I know that he will work to address the challenges of America’s 30 million small business with the same level of dedication and thoughtfulness that allowed him so many years of business success,” said Small Business Ranking Member Steve Chabot (R-OH).
