A strong earthquake rattled northern Oklahoma early Monday morning.
The 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck around 2:20 a.m. in an area not far from Waukomis or about 17 miles southeast of Enid.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake was about 3 miles deep but there were no immediate reports of damage. But it is in the region where the Oklahoma Corporation Commission has attempted to reduce the use of certain wastewater injection wells.
The quake followed a weak shaker in the Texas Panhandle Sunday afternoon. It was around 5 p.m. when a 2.7 magnitude quake occurred with an epicenter about one mile north of Wheeler, Texas.
