Gasoline prices keep falling in Oklahoma

Less than one week before Christmas and Oklahoma drivers are getting an early present at the gas pumps where prices for the state average $2.04 a gallon.

That’s two cents cheaper than a week ago and compares to the $2.30 drivers paid a month ago and to the $2.19 they paid one year earlier.

AAA Oklahoma reports Oklahoma’s average is among the lowest in the nation. The average is the same for Texas and Arkansas while drivers in Missouri pay an average $1.96 per gallon. Kansas motorists find an average of $2.06 a gallon while those in New Mexico are finding $2.30 at the pumps and those in Colorado have to pay an average of $2.41 a gallon.

In Oklahoma, Nowata County in the northeast has the lowest average at $1.90 per gallon. Beaver County motorists in the Panhandle are paying the highest average at $2.51 a gallon.

Lawton has an average of $1.92 while Oklahoma City and Tulsa have averages of $2.01 each. A month ago drivers in Tulsa paid $2.38 while those in Oklahoma City paid $2.21 a gallon.
