Chesapeake’s Chairman Emeritus picks up another 1 million shares in the company

A new SEC filing by Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy revealed a more than 1 million share purchase by director Archie W. Dunham.

The filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday showed he had made the acquisition of 1,200,000 shares on Dec. 18, 2018. The purchase also left Dunham with a total holding of 6,047,375 shares in the company.

The purchase price was $2.217 per share. Chesapeake shares started trading Thursday at $2.02 a share.

Dunham has been Chairman Emeritus of the Board since October 2015 and previously was the non-executive Chairman from June 2012 to October 2015.  He also was Chairman of ConocoPhillips from 2002 until his retirement in 2004.
