Bison Wraps Up Acquisition of S&S Star Water Solutions

Oklahoma City-based Bison Oilfield Services recently closed its acquisition of S&S Star Water Solutions, a water infrastructure business operating in the state’s SCOOP, STACK and Merge plays, according to a report published by The Oklahoman. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bison’s website identifies the energy services company as “the largest privately held energy services company in Oklahoma.”

“The recent downturn has presented many challenges for our industry, but as other service companies downsized, restructured or relocated assets to Texas, Bison went all in on Oklahoma,” said North Whipple, Bison’s CEO.

Bison employs more than 1,500 people, operates 300 transport trucks out of 17 yards and maintains 25 commercial disposal facilities along with an integrated network of water gathering infrastructure inside of every major oil and natural gas play in Oklahoma, including the Arkoma basin.

Ryan Surroz, president of S&S, will become president of Bison’s water infrastructure division. The company anticipates all S&S employees will continue as employees for the newly combined company.
