Tallgrass Energy declares open season on shipment of oil to Cushing

Kansas City-based Tallgrass Energy, LP, a firm that moves crude oil from Wyoming to Cushing, Oklahoma has announced a binding open season on its Pony Express system.

The line carries oil from the Guernsey, Wyoming origin point to refinery delivery points along the Pony Express system and to the Cushing storage hub. TallGrass has operations in eleven states involving the transportation, storage, terminal, water, gathering and processing assets serving crude oil and natural gas basins.

The open season starts at noon Nov. 16 and will conclude on Jan. 18, 2019.

Based on commitments received in this binding open season, Pony Express plans to expand capacity on the pipeline up to an additional 300,000 barrels per day beyond expected year-end capacity of approximately 400,000 barrels per day. Company officials expect the expansion to be staged over the next two years, with full-in service in Q3 2020.
