Firm unloads wind farms to expand solar energy investments

While wind farm numbers are growing in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas, a New Jersey company’s announced the $208 million sale of its wind portfolio. And it intends to spend hundreds of millions more on solar energy.

NJR Clean Energy Ventures sold its remaining 117 megawatt portfolio which consists of four wind farms to a subsidiary of Skyline Renewables.  The total price came to $208.5 million and still has to be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Over the past 9 years, CEV has invested about $700 million in solar projects and plans to invest another $500 million in the next four years.
