DUG Conference to focus on Oklahoma’s STACK and SCOOP

Oklahoma’s STACK and SCOOP plays will be the focus of this year’s DUG Midcontinent conference in Oklahoma City, sponsored by Hart Energy Conferences.

The show will initially begin Tuesday with a Midstream Technical Forum in the Renaissance Hotel starting at 1 p.m.

But the bulk of the DUG show will be Wednesday and the opening keynote at 8:35 a.m. will concern the Anadarko STACK. Earl Reynolds, CEO of Oklahoma City-based Chaparral Energy will be the speaker. His firm is described as a pure-play STACK operator.

The 9 a.m. session will focus on the SCOOP and Joshua Lawson, Vice President of Operations, Midcontinent at Gulfport Energy Corp. will be the speaker.

At 9:20 a.m., the discussion will turn to money.  Tom Petrie,  founder of Petrie Partners will discuss the Mid-continent’s role in the U.S. Energy Portfolio.

A session at 10:40 a.m. will spotlight the Western Anadarko and Brendan Curran, Vice President of Geology at FourPoint Energy LLC will be the speaker.

At 11 a.m., a minerals roundtable on Anticipating Drilling will include Will Cullen, Vice President of Business Development for LongPoint Minerals LLC, Blake Harris, Chief Operating Officer for Ccase Energy Partners and Shak Ahmed, Senior Research Associate for RS Energy Group.

Nathaniel Harding, Founder and President of Antioch Energy will speak at the 11:40 a.m. session featuring an Arkoma STACK update.

Devon Energy’s targeting of multiple intervals per unit and accelerated activity will draw attention at the 1:15 p.m. session entitled “Learning from Experience.” Wade Hutchings,  Senior Vice President and E and P at Devon Energy Corp. will be the speaker.

A 2 p.m. roundtable will focus on the STACK, SCOOP, Wedge, Merge and Score.  It will feature Jay Salitza, Managing Director of Oil and Gas for KeyBanc Capital Markets, Nick Woodruff who is Managing Director of RBC Richardson Barr and Stephen Beck, Senior Director of Upstream at Stratas Advisors.

The conference will give Greg Casillas, President and CEO of Casillas Petroleum a chance to describe his company’s efforts in the 62,000 acres it has in the SCOOP. He’ll speak at 1:40 p.m.

Charles Duginski, Chief Operating Officer at Tapstone Energy will speak at the 3:10 p.m. session on Operator Spotlight: North to South; Central to West.

The 3:30 session will  feature a panel of private operators discussing their drilling results and plans. The panel will feature Maurice Storm, President and CEO of Tecolote Energy LLC. He’ll discuss the Panhandle Oil Window Extended-Lateral Resource. A second speaker will be Luke Essman, President and CEO of Canyon Creek Energy-Arkoma LLC. His discussion will focus on the Arkoma Basin Revival.

The third speaker of the panel will be Will Ulrich, Co_CEO of Presidio Petroleum and his topic will be Building on a Western Anadarko Entry.
