OKC begins streetcar tests in central business district

Streetcar tests got underway Monday in downtown Oklahoma City where the city’s installing the new system.

The tests come as the MAPS 3 streetcar construction is concluding in the central business district. The tests began with the cars on the downtown loop which is the longer of the routes that wind in and out of the downtown business district.

Additional testing will begin Tuesday morning.  Earlier tests had been conducted on the shorter route that winds through Bricktown.

Crews continue with more installation of track along NW 5 between Broadway and Robinson.
