Oil-rich zone between Watonga and Kinfisher targeted by two exploration companies

More multi-well pad sites will be drilled in Oklahoma’s STACK play according to permits to drill issued this week by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

Tulsa-based Pride Energy Co. is planning five wells at one pad site in Blaine County. Located in the oil and gas rich area between Watonga and Kingfisher, the Red Land #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7-35H wells will be drilled a few miles west of the Lomega High school located north of state highway 33.

On the south side of the highway in Kingfisher county, Denver’s Cimarex Energy is planning exploration with five wells permitted by the state regulators. Three are the Billy #3,#4 and #5-20H wells to be drilled at the same pad site situated midway between Watonga and Kingfisher. Cimarex is planning two wells on the same pad at another site in Kingfisher county.
