Forbes’ Global 2000 biggest and best companies includes some with Oklahoma connections

Sorry to say no Oklahoma-based energy industries made the Forbes Global 2000 list of World’s Best Employers.

However, the list of 500 did include some firms with operations in Oklahoma including General Electric which was ranked 31.  GE’s Oil and Gas Technology Center, which opened in 2016 is located in Oklahoma City.

Noble Energy was ranked 46 while the investment firm, BlackRock is ranked 50. BlackRock is active in investments of energy operations.

Marathon Petroleum was ranked 56 and is a firm with offices in Oklahoma City as well as oil and gas operations in the state.

Excel Energy was ranked 74 while ConocoPhillips came in 99. Of course, ConocoPhillips has a major office in Bartlesville as well as a regional office in Oklahoma City.

Enel, the big wind company based in Italy was ranked 101 on the list of 500. It has major wind farm operations in Oklahoma. So does NextEra Energy which was ranked 176.  NextEra has wind farms in western Oklahoma and is also the same firm in a current fight over the state’s new law protecting military air bases from wind farm encroachment.

The 16th annual Forbes Global 2000 list includes publicly-traded companies from 60 countries. Collectively, the companies on this list account for $39.1 trillion in sales, $3.2 trillion in profit, $189 trillion in assets and $56.8 trillion in market value. All metrics are up double-digits year-over-year, with profits up an impressive 28%.
