Devon and Continental Resources report big wells in the STACK

Devon Energy is reporting success in Oklahoma’s STACK play with three wells in Blaine County including one with production of nearly 2,200 Barrels of oil a day.  Devon also reported six new wells in Kingfisher county.

The largest well was the Coyote 3_10-16n-12w 1hx located at 3-16N-12W or about 4 miles north of Watonga near the North Canadian river and had production of 2,169 Boed according to a completion report just filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. It also had 6,620 Mcf of natural gas.

It was one of two wells drilled on a single pad and was spudded in September 2017. Drilling finished in November of last year and the completion was made in February 2018.

The other well drilled on the same pad was the Coyote 3_10-16n-12w 2hx and saw production of 1,848 Boed along with 4,961 Mcf of natural gas.

But Devon also had a well 2 miles west of Watonga along highway US 281 at 23 16N 12W that had production of 1,245 Boed along with 5,90 Mcf of gas. The C-farms 23-16n-12w 1h is located at 23 16N 12W and was spudded in January of this year. Drilling ended in February and the well was completed in May.

But the company wasn’t finished with its completion reports, reporting six more wells in nearby Kingfisher County. The largest had production of 921 Boed, one of four wells drilled on the same pad near the Lomega high school and north of state highway 33. The four were drilled at 4-16N-9W.

Devon reported two more wells a section to the south, each drilled on the same pad.

Continental Resources filed reports showing two large gas wells were hit in Custer County as well as a Garvin County oil well with production of nearly 1,200 Boed.

The oil well is located between Marlow and Elmore City and had production of 1,190 Boed along with 1,676 Mcf of gas. The Lyle 4-30-19xhs is located at 31 3N 4W and was spudded in March. Drilling finished in May andthe well was completed in June.

The largest of the gas wells, the Moses Trust 1-24-13xh saw production of 27,254 Mcf of gas along with 273 Boed. It was located at the northern edge of the town of Thomas, 24 15N 15W and had a spud date of a year ago. Drilling finished in December 2017 and the well was completed in April 2018.

The second major gas well was the Eagle 1r-15-10xh located at 15 13N 15W or about 5 miles northwest of Weatherford. Its production was 18,067 Mcf of gas. The well’s spud date was September of last year and drilling ended in December with completion made in March 2018.
