Energy cases that typically go before the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver might be delayed while the Court has been asked to review a dozen ethics complaints made against newly-seated Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The Appeals Court judges will focus on complaints made regarding Justice Kavanaugh’s behavior at the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 27.
Chief Justice John Roberts requested Judge Timothy M. Tymkovich, the chief circuit judge in Denver to review the complaints against Kavanaugh or “any pending or new complaints related to the same subject matter.”
Judge Tymkovich has the option of handling the complaints himself
Now, Chief Justice Roberts has requested Judge Timothy M. Tymkovich, the chief circuit judge of the Denver-based Tenth Circuit, to review the complaints against Kavanaugh and “any pending or new complaints related to the same subject matter.” Judge Tymkovich has the option of handling the complaints himself, dismissing them or appointing a special committee to examine them.
It remains unclear how much the review could delay cases that go before the Appeals Court from Oklahoma and other states in the 10th U.S. District.
