Oil and gas company donates to National Wild Turkey Federation

A $30,000 donation has been made by Houston’s Newfield Exploration Co. to the National Wild Turkey Federation to improve grassland bird habitat in Oklahoma.

The donation was part of the company’s partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and its Oaks and Prairies Join Venture.

The program is focused on increasing songbird and game bird species in southern Oklahoma. Funds are used in programs aimed at reducing invasive plants that harm the growth of native grassland habitat.
