Kingfisher County will see much more drilling

Kingfisher county is still drawing heavy interest from drillers seeking more big oil in one of the primary counties that makes up the STACK play. Rigs will be going up soon.

The latest issuance of permits to drill by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission included 14 permits for Kingfisher county.

Six went to Newfield Exploration, the Houston, Texas based company that has heavy interest in the STACK. It’s planning drilling operations in what are labeled Stroud Fed wells in an area located approximately 11 miles east of the community of Greenfield.

Oklahoma Energy Acquisitions, the subsidiary of Alta Mesa Holdings in Houston, Texas was given five permits to drill. The Cleveland labeled wells will be drilled in a region approximately 6 miles northwest of Crescent.

Chaparral Energy received three permits to drill, each labeled the Hennessey Unit. The wells will be drilled within the city limits of Hennessey and located adjacent to highway 81.
