Time for a Cool Change in Oklahoma

Temporary relief is in store for Oklahoma this week as the dog days of Summer are quenched by some much-needed rain and cooler temperatures.

Gary McManus, State Climatologist with Oklahoma Mesonet, reported Monday that the jet stream’s northwest flow should interact with Gulf moisture to produce overnight precipitation, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Tuesday evening will bring the potential for localized flooding north of I-40. There’s also a chance of severe weather – mostly winds – on Wednesday evening.

A cold front will make way for lower temperatures in the 80s. Oklahoma City has a 30% chance of rain.
