More drilling planned in Blaine and Kingfisher counties

At least two energy companies that have seen major success in their ventures in Oklahoma’s STACK play are pushing ahead in areas where they’ve found large producing wells.

Devon Energy’s brought in some big wells in Blaine County and this week, it received permits to drill for three wells in the region. The three are in the same site, 36 16N 10W NWNWSESE.

Some of Devon’s successful wells have been discovered southwest of Watonga and west of the community of Greenfield.

Oklahoma Energy Acquisitions received five more permits to continue its exploration in Kingfisher County. The Houston, Texas firm also received a permit to drill in nearby Major County.

Oklahoma Energy Acquisitions, LP was incorporated in 2005 and is based in Houston, Texas. The company operates as a subsidiary of Alta Mesa Holdings, LP.
