Pinnell is endorsed by primary election challenger in Lt. Gov’s race

We reported last week on endorsements for Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy in her runoff race for the GOP nomination of Lt. Gov.

In all fairness, her opponent, Matt Pinnell announced an endorsement this week from former primary challenger State Senator Eddie Fields.

Instead of endorsing Murphy, Sen. Fields showed his support for Pinnell, the former state GOP chairman. Pinnell believes it could be a major thrust in his campaign since Fields picked up more than 58,000 votes in the June 26 primary.

“It is my please to endorse Matt Pinnell as Oklahoma’s nest Lieutenant Governor,” wrote Fields. “We need someone who will continue to stand up for Oklahomans in all seventy-seven counties, and be an effective ambassador for our state across this country.”

Fields is a third-generation Osage county cattle rancher and said as a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and other agriculture groups, he trusts Pinnell to effectively champion the causes.

“Matt brings leadership skills and a conservative vision for this state and I hope you will join me inn securing a bright future for Oklahoma by voting for Matt Pinnell on August 28.”

Pinnell said he was humbled to get the Fields endorsement.
