Oil drilling activity grows in Kingfisher County

Kingfisher County continues to be the king of Oklahoma’s STACK play, as the latest completion reports published by OK Energy Today showed 17 more new wells.

Ten of the wells were completed by Gastar Exploration of Houston, Texas.  Newfield Exploration, the company in a water line fine with Kingfisher County Commissioners reported 6 completed wells.

There is no letup in the drilling interest in Kingfisher county as 18 permits to drill  were issued in the latest round from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Five went to Devon  Energy, three to Chaparral Energy and Marathon Energy and two to Newfield Exploration

A dozen permits to drill were handed out to Grady County including 5 more to Continental Resources. Blaine county also got a dozen new permits including 4 more to continental  Resources and 3 to Marathon Energy.

All of the 8 permits for Ellis County went to EOG Resources.

Five wells were completed in Grady and Garfield counties while Canadian and Dewey counties each had 45 completions. Blaine county had 3 new wells.
