New security rules at Oklahoma Corporation Commission

New rules to enter the building housing the Oklahoma Corporation Commission have been implemented.  Effective this week, visitors can only enter through the east entrance and must present a photo ID.

Renovations to the East entryway of the Jim Thorpe Building were recently finished. Those entering the building have to present the ID at the security desk.

Spokesman Matt Skinner called the improved security measures “the norm.”

“The measures taken at the Jim Thorpe Building are similar to security measures at other state buildings, and were taken to better ensure the safety of the public and staff,” he said. Skinner said no incident or threat was behind the security steps.
