A move by Kingfisher County Commissioners in the heart of Oklahoma’s STACK play to restrict the use of temporary water pipes has led to a water fight with at least one oil company.

Newfield Exploration has found itself spending a lot of money in a fight it didn’t anticipate according to a report in the Sunday Oklahoman.

The county has taken action against temporary pipes that carry salt water and other water used in completion of wells. Officials say they fear the use of the temporary pipes carries the potential of big environmental problems.
