Chaparral Energy to move trading to New York Stock Exchange

Oklahoma City-based Chaparral Energy, Inc. announced Thursday it will soon be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The move of Chaparral’s Class A common stock from the OTCQB or stocks trading over-the-counter will be July 24. Trading will be under the new ticker symbol “CHAP.”

Upon the opening of the NYSE trading, the company’s Class A common stock will cease trading under the symbol “CHPE” on the OTCQB market.

“Chaparral’s uplisting to the NYSE marks another historic milestone for our company,” said Chief Executive Officer Earl Reynolds in making the announcement. “Over the last year and a half, we have successfully completed our strategic shift to becoming a pure-play STACK operator and significantly strengthened our balance sheet.”

He said the move to the New York Stock Exchange will allow the company to create greater long-term value for stockholders and increase its presence in the investor community.

John Tuttle, Chief Operating Officer at the New York Stock Exchange commented, “We are pleased to have Chaparral begin trading on the NYSE. We look forward to providing Chaparral with the unique benefits of our market model, network and services.”
