Verizon customers unable to communicate as outage hits the state

Thousands of Verizon Wireless customers scrambled Wednesday morning when the company suffered an outage of service.

Those who still had the old-fashioned land line resorted to them to make calls. Others were left wondering—what was so and so’s phone number?

Both cellular and internet service were interrupted over many areas of the state ranging from Lawton to Oklahoma City to Tulsa. The outage hit about 7 a.m. leaving customers without the ability to communication even on social media.

Verizon reportedly stated that a fiber line was cut during an excavation project and work was underway to repair the line and restore service.
