Energy Transfer Gets FERC Approval to open Rover Pipeline

Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners has won federal government approval to begin service of remaining parts of its more than 700 mile long Rover Pipeline.

The approval extends to segments that will allow 100 percent of the mainline capacity of 3.25 billion cubic feet a day of natural gas from northeastern U.S.

Prior to the approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the line had been in operation in Ohio. However, with the full operation, the 713-mile line will move Marcellus and Utica Shale gas from processing plants in West Virginia, Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Some gas will be transported into Canada.
