XTO Energy Shutting Down Fort Worth Headquarters

XTO Energy, a firm with a Mid-Continent office in Oklahoma City is closing its corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas and relocating business activities to Houston.

XTO is a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp. and announced the move this week, one that will affect a total of 1,200 workers. The company informed the Texas Workforce Commission of the decision indicating it will move operations to other company locations, primarily Houston beginning June 1 and ending June 30.

About 950 of the affected employees are management, professional or technical positions while 250 are non MPT positions.

XTO Energy indicated 75 percent of the non MPT workers have been reassigned to local positions with the company or will self-relocate to Houston.

About 6 employees will be separated from the company and will receive a severance allowance.
