STACK Success Grows for Continental Resources

Blaine county in the STACK continues to be a blessing for Oklahoma City’s Continental Resources as the company’s latest completion reports show major production from a handful of wells.

In filings made this past week, Continental again has found success in multi-pad drilling sites from wells where it previously had large producing wells. OK Energy Today reported on the earlier well completion reports filed last week.

One of those is the Verona wells located about 10 miles due east of Watonga and approximately 3 miles southeast of the community of Omega.

The Verona 6-23-14XH, completed in November of last year had initial production of 1,508 barrels of oil a day along with more than 4,000 mcf of gas. A second Verona well, the 3-26-23-14XH had production of 1,442 barrels a day after its was completed in December 2017.

Still another Gillian well, 7-2-35XH located next to the Verona wells had production of 1,046 barrels a day. It was completed in November 2017.

Continental had equal success in its drilling southwest of Watonga, finding the Luttrell 1-30-31XH with production of 1,114 barrels a day along with 14,125 mcf of gas. The well, completed in December 2017 is located approximately 7 miles southwest of Watonga.

Another Continental well, the Wilkinson 1-2-11XH had production of 1,457 barrels a day along with 10,444 mcf of gas. The well was completed in December 2017.

The company also reported completion of three  large wells in Garvin County. The Dicksion W3-21H produced 1,118 barrels of oil a day while the Dicksion W2-21H had production of 725 Boed and the Dicksion W4-21H produced 971 barrels a day. The Dicksion wells are located west of Purdy.

Continental made 12 of the 13 filings for Blaine County in the past week. However, the company also filed completions of three gas wells in Custer County. Two of the wells are located south of Thomas and one northeast of Custer City.
