Small Oil Leak from OKC Pipeline

Cleanup continues on a small oil leak that happened Thursday from a well in northwest Oklahoma City.

An estimated 10 barrels of oil spewed from a well in the 17,600 block of N. Pennsylvania Avenue, drawing the attention of neighbors and eventually attracting firefighters.

The yellow raw crude oil forced the temporary shutdown of Pennsylvania avenue.

Sonoco, the company responsible for the pipeline at the well site issued a statement late in the day.

“The section of the line has been isolated and the area contained. We are in the process of of bringing the appropriate resources onsite to remediate the area and make repairs. Once that is complete, the line will be returned to service.”
