No Letup in Drilling interest in Oklahoma’s STACK/SCOOP

Oil and gas companies aren’t letting up in their exploration of Oklahoma’s STACK and SCOOP.  The latest round of Permits to Drill approved by the Corporation Commission showed continued interest in and around both plays.

Blaine County, one of the three counties considered to be the STACK play shows 7 more permits to drill have been issued. Three were issued to Continental Resources Inc., one to Devon Energy, two to S and S Star Operating and one to MEP Operating LLC.

Canadian county has three permits while 9 were issued to drillers in Kingfisher county. Six went to Oklahoma Energy Acquisitions.

But there is also interest in the adjacent counties. Two more permits were issued for drilling in Custer County. Three were issued for Dewey county and 4 in Ellis county.

Grady County, one of those in the SCOOP saw 8 permits to drill issued. Six were also issued for drilling in Hughes county in southeast Oklahoma.
