Enel Green Power, operator of the Osage Wind Farm in Osage county has announced it is partnering with Osage County school districts to support educational resources in the classrooms.

The partnership involves school districts at Shidler Public Schols, Woodland public schools and the Pawhuska public school district. Enel Green, described as the largest wind-farm operator in the state plans to also fund scholarship opportunities for students in post-secondary education.

“Enel Green Power has made a commitment to being a positive influence in our communities,” said Osage wind farm Supervisor Cody Combs. “The best way for us to be involved here is to support our local schools, the teachers they employ and the student that they educate.”

The 150 MW Osage Wind Farm has been in operation since 2015 after the company made a $300 million investment.

“We appreciate Enel Green Power,” said Janice Finton, Superintendent at the Shidler Schools. “The additional money we receive from Enel certainly helps our schools, and our students.”

The company provided college scholarships for two Shidler students in the 2016-2017 school year. Six Woodland school students have benefited through Enel Green Power funded scholarships.

“Woodland Public Schools hosts an annual Academic Awards Banquet to celebrate academic excellence and to recognize the outstanding achievements of our high school students,” said Woodland Principal Rick Rogers. “Students and parents attend the banquet free of charge because most of the expense of the banquet is bore by Enel Green Power.”

Pawhuska Public Schools used the funding to enhance school technology and students have benefited from three scholarships.
