Despite Controversies, EPA’s Pruitt Still Has Support of Senator Lankford

While EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt faced U.S. House members during congressional hearings Thursday, he still has the support of Oklahoma U.S. Sen. James Lankford.

Pruitt’s been on a rough and stormy ride in the past several months, facing one allegations after another over the way he’s running the giant agency. The former Oklahoma Attorney General has faced claims of spending too much on first-class air travel, additional security, too many  airline flights home and overseas and

But in an interview Thursday, Sen. Lankford told OK Energy Today if he were to vote today on Pruitt’s status,he would vote to keep him on the job.

“I think over the next week or two, we’ll find out where Scott is,” said Lankford.  “The president has been very supportive of his policies and of Scott. He continues to face one challenge after another.”

He said “some of those things are much ado about nothing.”

Gut feeling about Pruitt’s chances?

“That’s really tough to tell at this point,” he answered. “The president continues to remain supportive of him.”

What will be telling said the Senator is how Pruitt handles the hearings not only in the U.S. House bu those coming up in a few weeks in the U.S. Senate.

One of the issues he takes issue with is the additional security. He said Pruitt faced death threats and and thinks the additional security is reasonable.
