Open Season Announced for Bakken Pipeline System

Energy Transfer Partners is trying to line up new and continuing business for its new nearly 1,900-mile Bakken Pipeline system.

Its subsidiaries, including the Dakota Access LLC and Energy Transfer Crude Oil Company have launched a Binding Expansion Open Season to solicit shipper commitments. The line will carry crude from North Dakota’s Bakken/Three Forks oil play to storage terminals in Nederland, Texas.

The capacity will be based on the committee subscriptions by shippers during the Expansion Open Season. The season formally began March 1.

The Bakken Pipeline System went into service June 1, 2017 and is a 1,915-mile mostly 30-inch pipeline. It carries oil to a terminalling hub outside Patoka, Illinois then south to the terminals in Texas.
