Frac Boats for Sale

For some oil and gas operators, they use their money to invest in boats. Speeding around lakes and reservoirs.

But one Texas company has a different boat in mind.  A boat to scan frack ponds. Transwater Inc. manufactures the small boats as part of its operations. The Midland, Texas company specializes in equipment for frac pit construction, lining, fresh and produced water monitoring and sonar mapping in the Drilling and Hydraulic Fracturing Progress.

“They’ll build anywhere from small hundred thousand barrel frac pits up to a million and a half, to two million barrel bodies of water,” Transwater owner Randy Smith said in an interview with Midland TV station CBS 7.

The boats map out the size of the frac pit, giving operators the cubic feet of water in it.

“We will tell them exactly how much usable water they are going to be able to get out of this frac pit and that can save them hundreds of dollars,” Smith said.

“We’re helping people guard those resources and take good care of them because they’re scarce,” Transwater’s Director of Business Development Steve Pruitt said.
