Step Up Oklahoma Proposal in Jeopardy in House

At last word, Step Up Oklahoma’s proposed $581.4 million tax hike, including increases on the wind industry and oil and gas had not won approval in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

A vote was put on hold late Monday afternoon with the measure still short of the needed votes. At last word, House Bill 1033xx was stuck on 63 votes and needed 76 to win approval. The number of opposing votes was 25.

At one point, Gov. Mary Fallin tweeted a message of encouragement.
