Sierra Club Has Jaded View of State Government When it Comes to Environment

The Oklahoma Chapter of the Sierra Club is revving up its supporters about the coming legislative session by referring to the Fallin  administration as the “ruling oligarchy.”

In an email letter to supporters and Sierra Club members, Johnson Bridgwater told them,” The fun begins February 5 and your lobbyist has already been hitting the pavement to speak to our members about thee upcoming 2018 session.”

He said it’s shaping up to be a historic year at the Capitol.

“The ruling oligarchy has put forward their plan to protect fossil fuels at the expense of renewables and to re-make state government,” said Bridgwater. “We expect to actively oppose new taxes on wind energy, solar energy and electric vehicles while supporting the transition to a clean energy economy.”

The state chapter is planning a Citizen Lobby Academy on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Gopuram Taste of India restaurant at 4559 NW 23 street in Oklahoma City. It will be held from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

“There will be plenty of other issues that require attention as well and we need your help,” pleaded Bridgwater.
