Propane Prices Expected to Rise This Winter

Those who rely on propane for home heating might see a jump in prices this winter according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The government says propane customers might pay between 11 and 22 percent more to heat their homes because of increased demand and higher prices for propane.

“A lot is going to depend on demand, not just here by worldwide,” Kevin Forman told the Tulsa World. He is president of the Oklahoma Propane Gas Association and owner of Froman Propane in Claremore.

But he doesn’t believe prices will reach the levels they did in the winter of 2013-14 when homeheating prices hit $4.10 a gallon and resulted in a state of emergency being declared by Gov. Mary Fallin.
