Marathon Scores a 1,600 Barrel a Day Well in STACK

Marathon Oil’s reporting a large well in Oklahoma’s STACK, one producing nearly 1,600 barrels of oil a day in Blaine County.

Details shown in OK Energy Today’s Well Completion reports, indicate the Chapman well, 26 15N 11W is located about 3 miles northeast of the community of Greenfield. Its official completion report stated the production was 1,573 Boed along with 5,851 Mcf of gas from the Mississippian. The spud date was January 2017 and drilling was finished in March with completion made in June. It was considered to be a multi-unit well.

Marathon, headquartered in Houston also reported a much smaller well successfully drilled in Canadian County as well as two wells in Kingfisher county. The Kingfisher county wells were multi-unit, 12 16N 7W located about 2 miles northeast of the city of Kingfisher. One Hansens well brought in 764 Boed while the other had production of 679 Boed.
