Schlumberger Joins Forces to Create New Horizontal Well Business

Schlumberger Limited, the company with operations in Oklahoma announced this week it joined with Production Plus Energy Services to create something they call Joint Venture Entities.

The purpose is to develop the HEAL System technology and business. The creation was actually effective at the end of May and JV started functioning worldwide as HEAL Systems. The new company will develop its business in the U.S. and Canada while Schlumberger will be sole distributor of the HEAL System technology outside the two countries.

The HEAL System offers what developers call a solution to production challenges of horizontal wells including multiphase slug fluid flow, damaging solids and excessive pump gas interference. The System reportedly extends the horizontal well’s producing life by controlling frac flowback, simplifying transition between artificial lift phases and lowering operation expenses.
