Rep. Russell says Paris Climate Accord was a “Giant Transfer of US Wealth”

A week after President Trump announced his decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord and attempt to renegotiate a better deal for the U.S. he has the support of Oklahoma Congressman Steve Russell.

“All of us should be good stewards, but the Paris Climate Accord amounted to a giant transfer of America’s wealth to other countries,” wrote Rep. Russell in a weekly message to his 5th District constituents.

He said it would have cost the U.S. economy nearly $3 trillion in reduced output, not to mention 6 million industrial jobs and 3 million manufacturing jobs.

“If the Paris Climate Accord had been so important it would have been run through the Senate for ratification—-it was not. In addition, our departure from the Paris Climate Accord did not change a single domestic law,” added the Republican Congressman.
