The firm announced Haight plans to resign from his position effective June 15 to explore other opportunities in the oil and gas sector. The company said his duties and responsibilities will be assumed by other members of the management team.

“Nelson has contributed a tremendous amount during his tenure at Midstates and he has provided outstanding leadership and guidance during a very critical time for the Company,” said Jake Brace, the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We will miss his contributions very much.”

Haight served as Executive VP and CFO since January 2014 and was the firm’s Chief Accounting Officer since August 2013. He previously was the Midstates Vice President and Controller.

Prior to joining Midstates, Haight was with audit firms and started his career in 1988 with Arthur Anderson and Company.
