Chesapeake Moved Quickly To Produce Four Wells near Dover

The same week that Chesapeake Energy CEO Doug Lawler told an investors conference in New York his company’s strength is better than ever, the firm revealed the completion of four Kingfisher County wells.

All four were drilled at the same site, 31 18N 6W which is about one and a half miles east of the town of Dover. Production ranged from a high of 758 to a low of about 200 barrels of oil a day. The completion reports published by OK Energy Today also reflected the speed in which Chesapeake drilled and finished the wells. In one case, a well was drilled in 8 days with completion 5 weeks later. Two wells took only 9 days from the spud date until drilling was finished. The longest of the four took 13 days.

The Emery well is producing 758 barrels of oil equivalent a day along with 435 Mcf of natural gas. The Vivian, at the same site had the lowest production at 197 barrels a day.

Two wells named Helen produced 683 and 605 barrels of oil a day. The four-well project got underway with a March 8 spud date for the first of the four wells, the Emery and completion came April 21.

The spud date for the Vivian was March 17 and drilling was finished on March 26 with completion on May 9.  One of the Helen wells saw the well spudded on March 16 and drilling ended 13 days later with completion April 27. The second Helen well, one producing 683 Boed had a March 30 spud date. Drilling ended April 8 and completion was made April 24.
