Cyberthreats to be Studied by U.S. Senate Committee

A U.S. Senate committee will explore cyberthreats in a Wednesday hearing in Washington. Cyberthreats aren’t just a worry at government agencies but also at all private industries, including energy.

U.S. Sen. James Lankford’s a member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee. It will be a full-committee hearing studying “Cyber Threats Facing America: An Overview of the Cybersecurity Threat Landscape.”

Four experts will offer their views including Jeffrey E. Greene, Senior director of Global Government Affairs and Policy at Symantec Corporation.

Steven Chabinsky, Global Chair of Data, Privacy and Cyber Security at White and Case LLP will be another. A third expert will be Dr. Brandon Valeriano, who is the Donald Bren Chair of the Marine Corps University and an Adjunct Fellow at the Niskanen Center.

The fourth expert will be Captain Kevin Keeney with the Missouri National Guard and Director of the Cyber Incident Response Team with the Monsanto Company.
