Continental Reports 2,100 Barrel a Day Oil Well near Watonga

While billionaire Harold Hamm and his Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources have been bashed by Democratic lawmakers in a fight over gross production taxes, his company has revealed the discovery of a STACK well with production of more than 2,100 barrels of oil a day.

A completion report, as shown by OK Energy Today indicated the Swaim well, 23 16N 12W located about one mile west of the Watonga Airport produced 2,127 barrels a day along with 4,428 Mcf of natural gas. The well was spudded July 15, 2016 and drilling was finished August 23, 2016. But the completion report, for one reason or another, wasn’t filed until March 29 of this year.

The Swaim well was one of four Blaine County wells reported by Continental Resources. The remaining three had production ranging from 303 barrels daily up to 517 Boe.  One was reported 3 miles west of Greenfield (1 14N 12W) and two others were located 5 miles east of Watonga, both at 24 16N 11W.
