Blaine County’s Latest Large Well—–Interest Grows in Grady County

Blaine County in Oklahoma’s STACK turned out another 1,000-plus oil well according to completion reports shown on OK Energy Today.

Houston-based Marathon Oil came up with the Calf Rope well located about 5 miles northeast of the city of Watonga. (1 16N 11W) Completion showed production of 1,385 barrels a day along with 2,152 Mcf of natural gas. The well was spudded December of last year and drilling finished Jan. 25 with completion made March 31.

Marathon also brought in a 461 barrel a day oil well in Canadian county (36 13N 7W). The Funk well is located about 3 miles northeast of the city of El Reno. Records show a spud date of May 29, 2016 with drilling finished in June and completion made in July of last year. But the filing of the report wasn’t made until this week.

Meanwhile, there’s increased interest in Grady County located in the SCOOP. Continental Resources of Oklahoma City recently scored a major well thee and just filed to drill in the same region (Pyle 1-36-25XH). Other filings for Grady County wee made by Newfield Exploration Mid-Con Inc. and Linn Operating LLC.
