Protesters Heckle Pruitt in Dallas—-Call Him a “Monster”

“You’re a monster!  You’re gutting the EPA!”

Shouts aimed at Scott Pruitt as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency spoke recently in Dallas as part of the city’s Earth Day festivities.

Protesters even disrupted his “fireside chat-style” conversation with Texas Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton and a reception held when the discussion was moved to another room at Fair Park’s Hall of State.

Protesters disrupted both Pruitt’s “fireside chat-style” conversation with Texas Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton as well as an impromptu reception held when the discussion was delayed and moved to another room at Fair Park’s Hall of State.

“How much have you been paid to do this?” shouted one protester who was eventually escorted from the room, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Other protesters held up a banner and shouted, “Get Scott Pruitt out of the EPA! We don’t want you here.”

But others in the crowd applauded Pruitt when he vowed to end “regulation by litigation” where the EPA settles lawsuits by consent decree and bypasses rule-making procedures without input from the public.
