OU Law School Hosts Oil & Gas Symposium on April 7

The University of Oklahoma College of Law will host its inaugural Oil and Gas, Natural Resources and Energy Journal Symposium on April 7, according to a press release and report by the OU Daily. This year’s theme is “The Future of Oil and Gas Law and Policy.”

“It is a special and unprecedented occasion to have the world’s top scholars in the fields of oil and gas, natural resources, and energy law gathered together for the inaugural ONE J Symposium,” said Joseph Harroz Jr., OU Law Dean.

The symposium will feature three panels of expert scholars discussing emerging issues in oil and gas.

“Oil and gas is a big topic — it’s always been an area of extreme importance in our country and in particular, today, with the issues that are emerging in the environmental sense and (sort of) properties,” said Monika Ehrman, associate professor of law, program faculty head and the journal’s faculty advisor.

The energy symposium will be held in the Bell Courtroom at the College of Law beginning at 9 a.m. The event is open to the public.
