AAA Oklahoma: State Gasoline Average is $2.18 per Gallon

Despite rising gas prices for the month of April, Oklahoma continues to have some of the cheapest gasoline in the nation, up 12 cents in the past month and up 30 cents since a year ago, as the statewide average stands at $2.18 per gallon, according to the latest report from AAA Oklahoma.

“Between the first of April and April 14, the state average price for a gallon of regular rose 11 cents, coming in at $2.20 per gallon on April 14, the high for the year,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “And even though prices have fallen just a bit lately, we still expect retail gas to trend upward as we approach the start of summer. How much they rise depends largely on market forces occurring on the other side of the globe.”

The U.S. average is $2.41 per gallon, up 12 cents in the past month. Drivers in seven states continue to enjoy some of the lowest prices in the nation. They include: South Carolina ($2.13), Mississippi ($2.17), Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama and Arkansas ($2.18), and Missouri (2.19).
