Left-Lane Drivers Targeted in House Bill

You left-lane drivers who won’t move over into the right lane of a 4-lane Interstate or highway are the reason why House Bill 2312 won approval in the Oklahoma House this week.

Only two Representatives voted against the measure that would ban driving in the left left unless it was for the purpose of overtaking and passing another vehicle.

A spokesman for the Highway Patrol says the purpose of the bill was to stop drivers from impeding the safe flow of traffic.

“I don’t get the logic of putting everyone in one lane of traffic,” argued Rep. Meloyde Blancett, R-Tulsa. “By and large, especially since I’ve been driving back and forth from Tulsa to Oklahoma City, most people move out of your way.”

She thinks good behavior should rule. The bill heads to the Senate.
