Workers in one building at Chesapeake Energy’s Oklahoma City campus had quite a surprise in February when they found a 40-year old man living in the stairwell.

A police report shows James Lloyd Blackmon, 40 was arrested on Feb. 21 after employees found he had “set up camp inside one of their buildings.”  The report stated that Blackmon had pried open a door to make entry to the building and allegedly stole several items including heaters and extension cords which he used to keep warm as he stayed in the stairwell of the building.

Police later found a syringe with his belongings as they arrested him on a burglary charge. Court records indicated Blackmon had prior convictions on a variety of charges in Arizona and Missouri.
