Robert Phillips, Grandson of Frank Phillips, Dead at 87

The last surviving grandchild of Frank Phillips, Oklahoma’s renowned oilman, has died. Robert B. Phillips, age 87, died February 2. Big Increases in Oklahoma and US Oil and Gas Rig Counts

Both Oklahoma and the U.S. saw big jumps in rig counts in the past week according to figures released by Baker Hughes. Oklahoma’s count jumped by 7 to reach 118. A year ago, the state had only 63 working oil and gas rigs. Nationally, the count grew by 20, reaching 809 active rigs. The jump …
