The shouting protester might not have been the worst of it for Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt as he faced a Senate confirmation hearing to become the next Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

It could have been the constant barrage of pointed and accusatory questions from Democrats who sit on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

The Wednesday hearing began with a protester interrupting U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe as he introduced Pruitt to the committee. The protester was removed. Then several minutes later, while Pruitt was delivering his opening statement, another protester shouted and screamed, and was removed from the chamber.

He made it clear in the opening statement he felt the rule of law was critical to the functions of the EPA.
